| Phentermine and Alcohol | |
| Alcohol is a vasodilator (a substance which causes your blood vessels to expand) and can effect your blood pressure. It can induce and exacerbate unwanted side effects such as dizziness, palpitation and arrhythmia when taken in combination with Phentermine and its derivatives. Alcohol intake should be reduced or significantly curtailed if you are on a course or Phentermine. Furthermore, alcoholic beverages are a significant source of calories. If you are serious about reducing weight, you should reduce your alcohol intake in any event. 1 gram of alcohol is equivalent to 7 calories. Twelve ounces of regular beer, for example, provides 150 calories. Five ounces of wine or 1.5 ounces of 80-proof distilled spirits provides 100 calories. Alcohol provides few, if any, nutrients, so if you drink alcoholic beverages and want to reduce your weight, consider reducing or eliminating your alcohol intake.
